I’ve been going to Molly Stark State Park since the late 1980s. My Aunt Ruth and Uncle Manny, who lived on Long Island, spent two weeks every summer at Molly Stark for years with a group of their friends. In the late 1980s, I started visiting them for a few days each summer with my wife and daughter.
As the years went by, my wife and daughter grew less interested in camping, but I kept going myself to visit my aunt and uncle.
I now have a grandson, Mason, who is about to turn 14 years old. My aunt and uncle passed away a while ago, but when Mason was six years old, I started taking him up to Molly Stark every summer, and this summer will be our ninth annual camping trip there. As he is turning into a teenager, I’m not sure how many more years he will want to do this with his grandpa, but I hope we keep going. It’s a wonderful tradition and Molly Stark is an absolutely wonderful state park!
